Missed the Shubhapanthuvarali. Always one of my favourite Ragams. Greatly like both Shri Sathyanarayanam and Ennalu Oorake..

hello aunty,

my name is akshaya arunkumar. I attended your concert yesterday at Anantha pandmanabhaswamy kovil, along with my mom. i enjoyed your concert very much, in particular your alapana in sudhadhanyasi followed by the "azhaga azhaga " song. Initially I mistook the ragam to be abheri.

The ragamalika song was great. You brought out the raga lakshana beautifully such that I could find out all the ragams as soon as you started on.

Thank you for gifting us with such a brilliant musical evening.

I am also learning carnatic music, and wish you much more laurels.

Wish you and your family a great new year.

Yours affectionately,
A.akshaya.

A full house concert for a perennially in-form musician is not a surprise. Supposed to be a floating population for a temple concert, there was no deletion; only addition to headcount. Nice!

After a brisk varnam, she bowed to ‘Sidhi Vinayagar’ incidentally seen at the temple, in shanmugapriya.

For people who have heard ‘Dinamani vamsa’ on her CD; Please don’t conclude that it is her ‘best’. Infact, she is on a mission to ‘better the best’. That could be seen in her rendition that day.

“Azhaga Azhaga enrazhaithu…” was rendered with emotions embedded in each word of the lyric. Certain words sung softly added weightage to the mood. I think that was the ultimatum for that song of Ambujam Krishna.

The accompanists played well enough to enrich the beauty of the whole rendition; JV warrants special mention here.

It felt nice to be attending a concert at the temple premises, where the stage / hall was not more than 30 ft away from the shrine. One could feel the fragrance of ‘sambrani’ sailing through the winds, occasional bell gong and thus, the positive vibration.

Trust me, the temple drum beats had a beautiful sync for ‘Ennalu Oorake’. It felt like the almighty blessing her directly.

She also bowed to the Anantha Padmanabha Swami with ‘Sri venkata Girisham’

May He bless her, so that, we, rasikas are also blessed indirectly!
