Raaga Manjari - A Garland of Ragamalikas























This audio album was launched on the 17th of December at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

It has eight compositions, all Ragamalikas, with beautiful,highly classical orchestration composed by Sri.K.S.Raghunathan,which serve as the preludes and interludes in each song.

Looks nice! Worh a buy for me just for the Needhan Thunai. A nice piece that especially when rendered with Swarams. Wonder if Swarams are there in this..Of the songs in the list, I've listened to Arabhimanam (in a recording by TNS), Chandrachuda (again in a concert by TNS), Shri Viswanatham (sung rarely these days - I heard it in a violin solo by Kanyakumari), Needhan Thunai and Gana Mazhai by you:) I think I have also heard Vattu Naduve though I don't remember it..

i got to listen to Raaga Manjari finally. i loved chandrachuda and needhaan thunai. rest of the songs are good too. hope to listen to more releases of yours. all the best.

i don't know how many viewers are getting the home page like this...every now and then, if the blog's home page appears as it was on december 29th 2008 with the Raga Manjari album being the latest post...nothing after that post appears, although if you "click" on "concerts", that page opens with the latest concert as the latest post...
