Kamakshi Amman Temple - Coimbatore- 1/10/2014

Kamakshi Amman temple in Coimbatore is a shrine very close to my heart and I always long to sing there during Navarathri. This year, I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity.

Wonderful ambience, an audience with a keen ear for music, strains of mantrAs being heard when the hOmam takes place simultaneously near the main sannidhi - what more should one ask for?

Co-artists:
Sri.B.V.Raghavendra Rao - Violin
Sri.B.Sivaraman - Mridangam
Sri. Anirudh Athreya - Kanjira

Entani nE varNintunu MEE Bhaagyamu!!! - Of singing at Kamkshi Amman temple. Kanulara Kamakshi Amman darshana bhagyamu sevinchi, bhajiyinchi, keertinchina MEE Bhagyamu!!!

You are blessed. My "menu pulakarinchenu" even as I write this. So nice to know that you sang for Navarathri utsavam.

But looking at the list of songs for the other concerts, do you need a special concert for rare ragas, rare krithis as in the Bangalore concert? You seem to do it day in and day out - lol. Well, that is also a complaint from rasikas, I believe:-)

By the way, talking of rare Krithis, Enta vedukondu O Raghava, Endu daaginado Sree Ramudu in Todi, Sandehamunu Deerpumayya in Rama Priya, Dwaitamu sukhama, etc. are not sung regularly by artists these days. Maybe, you could consider singing one rare krithi in a concert.

Thanks for updating the site with your schedule for December season upon my request.
