Nandan Nilekani's talk at TED.COM

TED.COM... One of the websites that I regularly visit.

- Offers several innovative and interesting topics and has had several illuminaries and visionaries talk on several relevant topics.

- Has organized several interesting talks on Business,Entertainment,Arts, Economics,Politics, latest technological developments and several other global issues.

- The TED Community has world-changing innovators from all around the globe, sharing ideas about their projects and discoveries.

One such talk that recently captured my attention was the one by Nandan Nilekani, on his ideas about India's future.

The way he has classified his ideas is quite interesting.

Nandan Nilekani, visionary CEO of outsourcing pioneer Infosys, explains four brands of ideas that will determine whether India can continue its recent breakneck progress.

Nandan Nilekani is the author of "Imagining India", a radical re-thinking of one of the world’s great economies. The co-founder of Infosys, he helped move India into the age of IT.

I personally found this talk to be very practical and thought-provoking.

Not sure what he meant at all. I do not think he is a visionary, he has helped create thousands of software coolies. Reservation has killed Indiam gems as is Affirmitive actions in USA, Indian education in olden days of Vedic times is timeless, how can he say we are doing great. He advocates cities are being given focus now. It is villages that have to be catered. Rural transformation. Make villages new cities. He says people were burdened in past. Never heard of that. Let us stop glorifying Nandan because he is a multi millionaire. Stop the reservation and let us stop hating Brahmins. Let us give meritocracy its due recognition. I so hate India for its policies, but like Indian people.
