Dear Mrs.Gayathri,
Me and my daughter attended your concert at the ratnagirishwarar temple yesterday, and we enjoyed your singing thoroughly, especially the alapana in sankarabharanam, and the vazhi maraithirukkudhe in nattakurinji.
Kudos to you, and we like to hear more of such great concerts from you.
Cheers,
lakshmi
Can you pl explain what is meant by R R,N,S etc I think they represent types oh talas.
Thank you Mrs.Lakshmi :-)
Heartening to have a new Rasika here on the blog !
For your info: if you happen to live in the Adyar area, there are two more concerts of mine in this vicinity in the next couple of weeks- Feb 28th at Nayaki, Kotturpuram and 9th of March at Anantha Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Gandhi Nagar,Adyar.
Regards,
Gayathri
Sorry! I forgot to mention earlier what R,N,S,T mean- I have given it in all my previous concert lists. I have added the explanation now in this concert list too..They denote Raga alapana,(R) Neraval (N),kalpanaSwaram (S) and Tani avartanam (T)

Ah Akshayalinga Vibho..Not many sing this dikshitar master piece these days...Nice to see you sing this..Amazing concert just like the beautiful akshyalinga swami temple in kezhvelur in Nagapattinam district
Yeah, Akshayalinga Vibho is a beautiful song ...so is " nambikettavar evarayyA" ....what wonderful lyrics ...a standing testimony to Sri Papanasam Sivam's mastery in tamil ( apart from his eloquence in Sanskrit evident in "Sri Valli Devasenapathe") ...... best of all,it is understandable to one and all ( as it is in Tamil ) and gives a warning bell to bow to God, before its too late ... i think this song is sung much less than what it deserves ..
Gayathri, could you post the lyrics of the song here ?
Thank you,
Sankar
Hi Sankar,
Indeed, lyrics of "nambikettavar evarayya" are very touching, and each time I sing it, especially the charanam, it strikes a chord somewhere deep within me and it is to be "experienced" from within. ..Beautiful song..
Shall post the lyrics here later today.
Gayathri
Thanks for agreeing to post the lyrics - i thought reading it will let enjoy the subscribers to this blog the beautiful lyrics, if they haven't already come across it.
But i also realise,it should be tough on you to type it out, in case you already don't have an electronic version of it ..
i found the lyrics at Dr.Sivakumar's ( RPI )homepage :

Sankar,
Started typing out lyrics in Tamil on Thursday, but could complete it only now, since I was travelling yesterday.
In the meanwhile, thanks for posting the lyrics in English, I have typed it out and posted the same in Tamil :-)
