About the album:

This CD is being marketed by Swathi Soft Solutions.
The theme is "Shiva-Shakti" and it focuses exclusively on the deities at Kanchipuram - Devi Kamakshi and Lord Ekamreshwara.
Kanchipuram is one of the seven most sacred places of worship in our country.
Lord Ekamreshwara and Devi Kamakshi, enshrined in separate temples in this city are adored by thousands of devotees from all over the country and abroad.
Kanchipuram is one of the "Pancha Bhoota Sthala"s where Lord Shiva is worshipped as "Prithvi Lingam " symbolising the Element Earth. Just the thought of Ekamreshwara gives liberation - aptly praised by Sri Muttuswami Dikhitar in his monumental Kriti "Chintaya maakanda" in Bhairavi. All the four tamizh saints(nalvar) have sung in praise of Lord Ekamreshwara of Kanchipuram.
Devi Kamakshi, the presiding deity of Kanchipuram is one of the most famous shrines of The Goddess in the country.Devi is worshipped in "Sri Chakra"and this temple is closely associated with the life of Adi Sankara.Several composers including the Trinity have sung extensively in praise of Devi Kamakshi.
Oothukkadu Venkata Kavi has composed nine gems in Sanskrit as "Navavarana Kritis" bringing out the essence of Devi Upasana.
This album is dedicated to the worship of Shiva and Shakti in the form of Lord Ekamreshwara and Devi Kamakshi with compositions of Muttuswami Dikshitar,Pattinathar and Tamizh Nalvar(Tirugnanasambandar, Tirunavukkarasar, Sundarar and Manikkavasagar) Tevarams as well as Kamakshi Navavarana Kritis of Venkata Kavi.
