Today we did quite a bit of sightseeing in the historic city of Moscow.
The weather today was very pleasant.
We first visited the Kremlin:
The Red Square is another important landmark in the city. All along the Red Square are beautiful monuments:
Standing alongwith our tour guide, in front of the Lenin Mausoleum (Lenin's tomb), situated in the Red Square:
We went inside a beautiful cathedral (Cathedral of Christ the Saviour)and took a look at the ancient carvings on the walls and ceilings. Unfortunately, photography was prohibited inside the cathedral:
After this,we went to a beautiful garden. Such bright-colored flowers ! It was nature at its best here:
We finished all this and came back to the hotel, quite exhausted.
I have to now sit and pack- we leave for Kazan tomorrow morning.
I will write more from Kazan...

Great photos, It looks like freezing in Russia. Its 40 degree C in chennai I heard (same in california bay area here). Maybe you can take some of the cold to cheanni :) When you get back to Chennai and find time, can you label some of the other members in the pictures. I can identify yourself and JV, but not others. I am sure you are getting Matryoshka doll or the authentic nesting dolls for Vishruthi and Visvesh.
Great pics Gayathri. Russia is really a beautiful country. Have a great time ! Also happy to see the comments of your Russian rasikas. And you look great in those western clothes too. is it very cold there ? Keep on updating. Your posts are always a pleasure to read. And am curious to know the song-list in Moscow.
Hey really cool pics..Russia seems to be really beautiful..As said by Pushkala, may be get that cold weather to India (Across the country, its freaking hot :()
Thanks for sharing those nice colourful, monumental pictures. It is an appreciable deviation from your usual format of posting the song list. Freak out!
The very purpose of this tour is to introduce our most treasured art form to the Russians. Sometime back, I had said, 'You will go places' and u r now going to many places, rather (in lighter vein)
At the end of the day, I know, you thank this beautiful art form, which has given you so much in life - name, fame, wealth, fan following, admirers, well-wishers, critics, lessons of life etc.; which other profession could not parallel.
